The IATF League Year runs from March to March each year, culminating in the International Axe Throwing Championship (IATC) in June.

IATF Tournament Circuit - Besides hosting local league playoffs each individual season, IATF clubs are able to host any and all styles of tournament throughout the year, whether those tournaments are Standard, Premier, Big Axe, Marathon, or other more creative formats, with Sanctioned Tournaments being approved by the IATF in advance and reflected in the calendar found below.

Regional Tournaments - Regional competitions are open to any league participants who took part in sanctioned league play in either a Standard or Premier league during the 2020 or 2021 seasons, even partial seasons or seasons at clubs that have since closed. Regional winners are automatically entered into Round 1 of IATC 2022. This competition will be held using the Premier ruleset.

Wild Card Tournaments - IATF members who have hosted a sanctioned Standard or Premier league during the 2020-2021 Season may choose to host a Wild Card tournament using Premier Rules. This tournament is open to any player who has participated in a sanctioned league in either stream (Premier or Standard) but has not qualified for Round 1 of IATC 2022 at that point in time. This competition will be held using the Premier ruleset.

Look for announcements from your local club closer to the date for details.

Round 1 of the IATC - All participating IATF member locations who held sanctioned leagues in either stream (Premier or Standard) throughout the league year are open to hosting Round 1 at their particular facilities. The full list of those eligible for participation in Round 1 will be available shortly after completion of the  league year in March once we collect the data from each sanctioned league. This competition will be held using the Premier ruleset.

Round 2 of the IATC -  The Finals of the International Axe Throwing Championship (IATC) are hosted in Toronto, Canada each year. This competition is held over several days in June and involves the qualifying throwers from Round 1 competing in a double elimination, Premier rules tournament for the ultimate prize, The Wilson Cup.

Should a location have closed in the interim, their players will be allowed to compete for that club's vacant spot(s) at their nearest IATF location.
