HOSTED BY IATF MEMBERS OVER 9 REGIONS

We've partnered with 9 IATF member venues for the 2025 REGIONAL AXE THROWING CHAMPIONSHIPS.

Am I Restricted To Throwing In My League’s Region?

No, you are not restricted to any specific regional tournament. COMPETITORS are welcome to register and throw in any regional tournament. You can win multiple titles, however you can only win one bid to iatc.

How Were Host Venues Selected?

venues were selected in consideration of the iatf regions and in negotiation with iatf members to elevate ratc for this year and future years.

EXPANDED WEEKEND SCHEDULES

RATC is a full weekend of events that will take place across multiple weekends at the beginning of November. The IATF Member hosts will be hosting feature tournaments in addition to the marquee Regional Tournament making for an epic weekend of competition with throwers from your local region.

VARIABLE PRIZE POOLS

A % of all registration fees collected for each tournament will go toward the cash prize pools at that tournament. Each tournament will have a prize pool payout for the top 8 competitors.

ROUND 2 QUALIFICATION

The first and second place winner in each marquee tournament will receive automatic qualification for Rounds 1 & 2* of the IATC 2026 Wilson Cup! Players who win a Round 2 entry must still compete in Round 1 for seeding purposes.

The first and second place winner in each feature tournament will receive a guaranteed spot in the equivalent tournament at IATC 2026.**

CAN ANYONE PARTICIPATE EVEN IF THEY DON'T QUALIFY FOR IATC?

Yes, anyone can participate and play for the prize pools. However, players must have participated in a qualifying IATF League to win a reserved spot in Rounds 1 & 2 of the IATC Wilson Cup.

WHen IS THE CUTOFF FOR COMPLETEING A qualifying LEAGUE SEASON?

To be eligible to claim a reserved spot in Rounds 1 & 2, a player must have completed a qualifying IATF league between March 7, 2025, and the tournament date.

WHAT HAPPENS IF A NON-IATF QUALIFYING THROWER WINS THEIR REGIONAL TOURNAMENT?

IN THE EVENT THAT A NON-QUALIFYING PLAYER WINS, THE ROUND 2 spot WOULD PASS TO THE NEXT best QUALIFYING finisher.

WHAT HAPPENS IF A THROWER WINS THEIR REGIONAL TOURNAMENT BUT HAS NO INTENTION OF TRAVELING TO TORONTO IN MAY FOR IATC?

IF THE 1ST OR 2ND PLACE THROWER ALREADY KNOWS THEY WILL NOT BE ATTENDING IATC 2026 IN TORONTO, THEY SHOULD LET EITHER THE TOURNAMENT HOSTS OR THE IATF KNOW WITHIN 24 HOURS. IN THIS CASE, THE ROUNDS 1 & 2 SPOTS WOULD PASS TO THE NEXT BEST QUALIFYING FINISHER. IF THE THROWERS FAILS TO NOTIFY AND LATER DECLINES THEIR BID, IT WILL RETURN TO THE QUALIFICATION POOL FOR REDISTRIBUTION AMONGST THE MEMBER VENUES.

*Qualification to Round 2 is only available to COMPETITORS who WILL have completed a qualifying IATF league season by Jan. 27th, 2024.
**This only applies to the feature tournaments run by the IATF. Events like skills and marathons run by the host venues, do not receive spots in IATC.

HOW DOES POOL PLAY FORMAT WORK?

This format, by design, gives players more matches and better value. It further strengthens the competitive opportunities by guaranteeing each competitor 3 matches, with a minimum of 50% of competitors playing in at least 4 matches.

THE Format

The tourney starts with a group stage. Players are divided into groups of players dependent on the tournament size.

THE Group STAGE

Each competitor will throw 3 matches within the group in a 3 out of 5 round match format before any eliminations.

THE ELIMINATION STAGE

The top 2 competitors from each group move onto a double elimination bracket to crown that region's winner.

WHAT ARE THE IATF REGIONALS?

The IATF Regionals are a set of 9 tournaments for competitors to compete in across the IATF regions.

Regionals come with the opportunity to throw with the best, win prize money, and claim the title of Regional Axe Throwing Champion.
