IATF AXE THROWING TOURNAMENTS

The IATF League Qualification Period runs from March to March each year, culminating in the International Axe Throwing Championship (IATC) in June.

IATF Tournament Circuit - Besides hosting local league playoffs each individual season, IATF clubs are able to host any and all styles of tournament throughout the year, whether those tournaments are Standard, Premier, Big Axe, Marathon, or other more creative formats, with tournaments being approved by the IATF in advance and reflected in the calendar found below.

Regional Tournaments - The IATF Regionals are a set of nine tournaments held on a single day across the IATF regions of the world. Regionals have always come with the opportunity to compete with the best, win prize money, and make your name and skills known throughout the world. This year, the stakes are even higher with the addition of a guaranteed qualification for Round 2 of the International Axe Throwing Championship’s Wilson Cup.

In order to take advantage of earning a spot in Round 2 of the Wilson Cup winners must have competed in at least one qualifying league season in the Qualification Period.

Round 1 of the IATC - All participating IATF member locations who held eligible league seasons in either stream (Premier or Standard) throughout the qualification period are open to hosting Round 1 at their particular facilities. The full list of those eligible for participation in Round 1 will be available shortly after completion of the qualification period in March. Round 1 competition is scored using the Premier ruleset.

Round 2 of the IATC - The Finals of the International Axe Throwing Championship (IATC) are hosted in Toronto, Canada each year. This competition is held over several days in June when the throwers advancing from Round 1 compete in a double elimination, Premier rules tournament for the ultimate prize, The Wilson Cup.

Should a location have closed in the interim, their players will be allowed to compete for that club's vacant spot(s) at their nearest IATF location.
